Easy steps to get started on Ebay

Easy steps to get started selling on Ebay:

1. The first thing you must do is set up an ebay account by going to http://www.ebay.com/

2. You must also set up a paypal account which is a secure site where payments are made from your buyers. You must have a valid credit card and bank account under your name to set up an account. You can go to http://www.paypal.com/ to set up your account. Bothe ebay & paypal have easy steps by step directions on how to set up your account.

3. Once you have those 2 accounts set up, you can start selling.

4. You begin by taking pictures of your items. Make sure you have good lighting. Make sure the items look attractive in the picture. Edit & crop the pictures if you have to. List the items under the right catergory. Make sure you fully describe your item. The key thing is to have as much info as possible in the title of the listing because that is how items are found when buyers are searching. Make sure you list brand, size & color in your title. For example your title would read like this: WOMENS RED LEATHER NINE WEST SHOES SZ 9 . If you have room you can list the style, such as "SANDALS" or "PUMPS" or "STILETTOS" .

5. In the description, make sure you describe the item accurately. Include measuresments, especially for clothing. Usually would be across the chest, waist, inseam, length etc. Also include the material that it is made of. Include any flaws such as "Has a tiny spot by shoulder". Buyers appreciate honesty.

6. I found that I get more watchers and bidders when I start my bids at .99 cents. The lower the starting bid is, the more buyers you attract. Most of your items will sell for much higher than that. Its more attractive to buyers. Keep your shipping price low. Don't overcharge for shipping. In your description , sound friendly. Its like selling yourself. Give the buyer a comfortable feel. Be kind and courteous. Buyers will come back and also spread the word. Also, when you start your bids low at .99 cents, your ebay fees stay low.

7. Make sure you answer all questions buyers ask promptly. Stay on top of it by checking daily.

8. Make sure you ship your items out promptly. If you foresee a delay or if something comes up unexpectedly, contact the buyer to let them know. They are usually very understanding when you communicate with them.

9. If you get a buyer complaint, make sure you resolve it quickly. Apologize, no matter whose fault it is. If you have to refund money, just do it. It will be a small loss at the moment, but it will build your reputation as a good and honest seller.
